This list of settlements in Pirates! is continued from here.

Nassau is a former haven for pirates that eventually succumbs to English control later in the game. Situated to the North and rather remote, there is never much incentive to come here.
Nevis is to the East and is within the cluster of English cities that frequent the area. Not very populated or interesting but good for topping up your crew.
Nombre de Dios, to the South West, will typically only trade with those who are friendly to Spain, and offers low to moderate plundering opportunities. Another notch to score if you're plundering the whole Spanish Main.
Panama, is a Spanish stronghold that cannot be reached by ship. It is initially well guarded and offers a good plunder opportunity, but will require you to have a crew of 500+.
Petit-Goave, is situated centrally on the map amongst a cluster of French colonies. When plundering the West, it is handy to be friendly with these lesser guarded settlements, regardless of nationality and depending more who you are allied to, so you can gather crew and repair your ships.
Port Royal, is in the centre of the map as an English settlement; the only one that is English to the Western side of the map. Typically is well guarded and rich enough to trade with, though prices for your wares can vary.
Port-de-Paix, is centrally located and becomes a major commerce centre for the French from 1660 onwards.
Puerto Bello is to the South West, alongside Nombre de Dios, both of which are Spanish. Loyal to the Spanish, it is often difficult to trade with merchants here unless you are Spanish or allied to the Spanish.
Puerto Cabello can be found to the South South East. It is one of the smaller settlements of the area but nonetheless another target you can plunder and install a new governor at to curry favour with your preferred nations.
Puerto Principe was one of the first cities to be founded in Cuba and cannot be reached by ship. Being wealthy (and land-locked) it is often worthwhile to visit there once or twice in your pirate career to reap their gold reserves for you and your crew.
Rio de la Hacha is situated to the South and is a Spanish stronghold. Spice and sugar is often held in quantity there which can be sold at a profit to some of the larger ports nearby, such as Curacao.
San Juan is situated to the East and is the closest Spanish settlement to the French/English/Dutch cluster of ports to the East. Often well guarded with ~300 men but offers a fairly lucrative return should you conquer them.
Santa Maria Situated to the South, this city offers a high volume of food and at low cost. This is handy if you intend to sail North West to the Spanish strongholds there as you will need food for the long journey and (hopefully) large crew.
Santiago Cuba's capital and often well fortified. Prices for goods are high here, making it a good trading post.
Santa Domingo is centrally located and if one of the oldest, largest and best fortified Spanish strongholds of the area. The city will pay good money for luxuries and is a moderate target for plundering.
St Augustine Originally French before the eras of this game, and Spanish for the purposes of Pirates! Situated in Florida, it is the most Northerly port and offers a moderate plundering opportunity. Watch out for the rocks and shallows on the way there though.
St Eustatius is in the Eastern cluster of French, English and Dutch colonies and is controlled by the Dutch. It is often an easy target for plundering due to lack of protection from troops and also offers good trading opportunities, particularly for luxuries and goods.
St Kitts is an English output that was originally ruled by the French and English that became culturually dominated by the latter. Spices fetch a good price in St Kitts, while the city is often well-defended, rich and ripe for a plunder!
St Martin is to the East of San Juan and is relatively uninteresting. Sugar can be purchased here cheaply and be sold on at a profit to its larger neighbouring settlements.
Tortuga is a French output that was famous as a pirate haven in a waterway that was lucrative for pirates and privateers. At the centre of the map alongside other French cities, it is moderately guarded and can provide some good plundering returns.
Trinidad , although a Spanish output, was popular with non-Spanish for smuggling as the Spanish seemed to totally disregard Trinidad in regard to its rule of law. It is the most South Easterly city in the game.
Vera Cruz is the most Westerly port, owned by Spain and usually fairly wealthy. Take lots of troops if you plan to raid this area.
Villa Hermosa Situated to the West, food is often plentiful here and can fetch a good price, and is probably the best place to pick up food in this area of the map. Often well guarded and good for plundering.
